Albrighton Primary gets a network overhaul

Four Hills Education Trust has completed the first of three phases of new cabling and equipment at the Newhouse Lane school.

Albrighton Primary School on Newhouse Lane has had the first stage of a major upgrade to its IT network, paid for by Four Hills Education Trust, which runs the school.

What changed

The first of three planned phases replaced cabling, improved connectivity across the whole site and installed new network equipment. Telford & Wrekin IDT provided the technical expertise to deliver it.

Headteacher Karen Tearle said patchy connectivity had previously got in the way of lessons, and that teaching and communication have become more dependable since the work. Trust chief executive Kirsty Osman said reliable technology underpins good teaching and the smooth day-to-day running of a school.

What is next

Two further phases are planned to add capacity and resilience so the school is ready for future technology. The trust says the same approach is being taken across its other schools.
